The book is gripping, touching. The movie on the other hand feels disjointed and unable to capture the audience's emotional response as deeply. And sadly some very critical parts have been left out or changed to reflect a different point of view. Especially the final section of the story.

Holmes for the Holidays

Strange how i always encounter such coincidents when I embark on my ferocious appetite for media offerings.

I was looking forward to watch the latest instalment of the Holmes movie when I came across this book. The Sherlockian by Graham Moore.

While Holmes grapples with the evil Professor Moriarty in A Game of Shadows; Moore shows an alternative venture into what might have happened to Doyle after he killed off Holmes on the pages.
